Summersville is a small farming community of about 400 people in south-central Missouri's Texas County. Highway 17 runs north-south through town, connecting to Licking 25 miles north and Mountain View to the south. Most traffic is local residents heading to nearby Houston or Cabool for services. The town's historic one-room schoolhouse from the early 1900s still stands as a local landmark.
