Suffolk, VA

united states

Suffolk sprawls across 400 square miles of southeastern Virginia, making it one of the state's largest cities by area. I-664 runs north-south through town, connecting to Newport News and the bridge-tunnel system, while US-58 crosses east-west linking Norfolk and Virginia Beach. The city's mix of suburban neighborhoods, active peanut farms, and waterways creates a distinctly rural feel despite its proximity to major urban centers. Suffolk produces about half of Virginia's peanuts, and the sweet smell of drying peanuts fills the air during late summer harvest season.
