Sudan is a small farming town in the Texas Panhandle, about 40 miles northwest of Lubbock via US Highway 84. This agricultural community of 1,100 people sits in cotton and grain country on the High Plains. The town hosts an annual Hornets Homecoming that brings former residents back to celebrate their unchanged high school mascot from the 1940s.
