Suamico is a growing suburb about 10 miles northeast of Green Bay, connected by Highway 141. Most residents commute south to Green Bay or take Highway 57 toward Door County. The community sits among lakes and woodlands in Brown County, with access to I-43 for longer trips to Milwaukee. The name comes from a Menominee word meaning "sand bar."
