Strong City is a small Kansas prairie town along Highway 50, serving as the gateway to Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve. Located 90 miles southwest of Topeka and 25 miles west of Emporia, it's surrounded by the rolling Flint Hills ranching country. The restored Santa Fe Railway depot downtown still features its original Harvey House lunch counter from the railroad era.
