Stratton is a farming town of 700 people on US Highway 385 in eastern Colorado, about 150 miles from Denver. The main route from Denver follows I-76 east to Sterling, then US 6 southeast to US 385 south. It's a straight 40-mile drive north from Burlington on US 385, making it a convenient stop between Colorado's mountains and Kansas plains. The town's grain elevator towers over the prairie, visible for miles as you approach.
