Stoddard is a Mississippi River village of 823 people in southwestern Wisconsin's Vernon County, reached via scenic Highway 35 along the Great River Road. Most visitors come from La Crosse (25 miles northeast via Highway 14 to Highway 35) or Prairie du Chien (15 miles south). The 1896 Stoddard Hotel still operates as a restaurant overlooking the river.
