Stockton, Kansas sits along US Highway 183 in the wheat country of north-central Kansas, about 40 miles north of Interstate 70. As the Rooks County seat, it's accessible via Highway 18 running east-west and connects to I-70 through several state routes. The town features the world's largest hand-dug well, a 109-foot-deep shaft excavated entirely by hand in the 1880s.
