Stites is a tiny mountain town of 165 people in north-central Idaho's Clearwater River valley. Highway 13 connects it to Grangeville (12 miles south) and Kooskia, with the main route from Lewiston running about 45 miles via Highway 12 to Kooskia then south on 13. Named after early settler William Stites, it's one of Idaho's smallest incorporated cities with a post office dating to 1901.
