Stillwater sits on the St. Croix River about 25 miles east of Saint Paul, accessible via Highway 36 from I-35E. This historic river town features a preserved 19th-century downtown and scenic bluffs. Highway 95 runs north-south through town, while Highway 64 crosses from Wisconsin via the historic lift bridge. The antique shops along Main Street occupy buildings from the 1800s, when Stillwater earned the nickname "Birthplace of Minnesota."
