Steele City is a tiny farming village of 62 people in southeastern Nebraska, right on the Kansas border. Most visitors arrive via Highway 8 from Fairbury (15 miles west) or connect through local county roads from Highway 15. The community sits amid corn and soybean fields and became known as the proposed starting point for the Keystone XL Pipeline.
