Starke is a small north Florida town that sits at the intersection of US 301 and State Road 16, about 50 miles from both Jacksonville and Gainesville. Most visitors take I-75 to Exit 407, then head west on SR 16 for 8 miles. The town serves as Bradford County's seat and is known for being home to Florida State Prison, one of the state's oldest correctional facilities dating back to 1961.
