Staples is a tiny rural community in Guadalupe County, halfway between Austin and San Antonio. Take I-35 to the Schertz exit, then head east on FM 78 for about 8 miles. Most visitors are locals commuting to New Braunfels or San Marcos for work. The historic general store has been serving the area since 1902 and remains the heart of this 300-person community.
