Stanton is a farming town of 1,700 people in northeast Nebraska, about 100 miles northwest of Omaha. Highway 275 runs east-west through town, connecting to Norfolk 25 miles east, while Highway 15 provides the main north-south route to Columbus. The 1917 brick courthouse with its prominent clock tower has been keeping time on the town square for over a century.
