Stanley is a small North Carolina city of about 4,000 people, located 25 miles northwest of Charlotte in Gaston County. Drivers reach it via US Highway 321 from Charlotte or take I-77 north to Exit 36, then NC Highway 73 west. Charlotte Douglas International Airport is about 35 miles away. The town's restored 1920s train depot serves as its community centerpiece and visitor center.
