Stanhope is a small borough in northern New Jersey's Sussex County, about an hour west of New York City via Interstate 80. Route 206 runs north-south through town, connecting to Newton and points south, while Route 183 provides local access. The area features rolling hills, forests, and small lakes typical of rural northern New Jersey. The historic Stanhope House music venue has been hosting live blues and rock performances since 1936.
