Stanford is a tiny farming community in central Illinois, about 20 miles northeast of Bloomington. Take I-55 to Exit 167, then Route 121 east for 8 miles to reach this McLean County town of 500 residents. The main attraction is the historic Funk Prairie Home, an 1864 Italianate mansion with a distinctive cupola visible across the flat prairie.
