Stallings is a Charlotte suburb about 15 miles southeast of downtown, accessible via Highway 74 and I-485. This Union County town grew rapidly after incorporating in 1995, developing from farmland into family neighborhoods. Most residents commute to Charlotte or nearby Matthews along Highway 74 or Highway 218. The town was named after early settlers who ran the local railroad depot.
