Stafford is a small county seat in south-central Kansas, reached via US Highway 50 from Hutchinson (35 miles east) or Wichita (120 miles southeast). US 281 provides north-south access to Great Bend and Pratt. This farming community of 809 sits amid wheat fields under big prairie skies. The 1922 red brick courthouse with white limestone trim dominates the town square and can be spotted from miles away across the flat landscape.
