St. Paul is a remote Aleut village on St. Paul Island in the Bering Sea, accessible only by air from Anchorage. The island has about 10 miles of gravel roads connecting the village, airport, and research stations. Known for subsistence fishing and marine research, St. Paul hosts one of the world's largest northern fur seal colonies with hundreds of thousands of seals gathering on its beaches each summer.
