St. Johns is Clinton County's seat, located 20 miles north of Lansing via US-27. The main route from Grand Rapids takes I-96 east to US-127 north, then US-27 north for about an hour. Detroit drivers follow I-96 west through Lansing to US-27 north. The city centers around its historic 1905 courthouse square, which hosts the annual Mint Festival each August.
