St. Joe is a tiny Ozark Mountains community of 136 people in northern Arkansas, accessible via Highway 65 from Little Rock (about 100 miles) or Marshall (15 miles south). Highway 27 provides east-west access through the forested hills. Most visitors come to explore the nearby Buffalo National River and Ozark National Forest, where original 1800s homestead cabins still stand along old logging roads.
