St. Charles is a small farming town in central Michigan's Saginaw County, about 30 miles northeast of Lansing. Take I-75 to M-46 west, or use M-52 south from Saginaw for a quick 15-mile drive through corn and soybean country. The town sits at the intersection of these two state highways in gently rolling agricultural terrain. Every September, St. Charles hosts its famous Potato Festival, complete with mashed potato wrestling competitions.
