St. Augustine sits 40 miles south of Jacksonville on Florida's Atlantic coast, accessible via I-95 exits 318 or 311. The nation's oldest continuously inhabited European settlement features narrow historic streets originally built for horse carriages. US-1 runs through downtown while scenic A1A hugs the coastline to area beaches. The city's brick-lined avenues in the historic district are so narrow that two cars can barely pass each other.
