Squaw Lake is a tiny community of about 100 people in north-central Minnesota's lake country. Drive Highway 46 west from Grand Rapids (25 miles) or take Highway 169 north from the Twin Cities through Aitkin, then Highway 200 to 46. The town sits on its namesake lake surrounded by Chippewa National Forest, with the original 1960s post office still using handwritten sorting box labels.
