Springfield is a small Louisiana town of about 380 people in Livingston Parish, roughly 30 miles east of Baton Rouge. Drivers reach it via Highway 42 from I-12, with most traffic heading to Hammond for daily needs or connecting to I-55 for longer trips to Baton Rouge or New Orleans. The area sits in pine hill country typical of the Florida Parishes, with rolling terrain created by Tangipahoa River tributaries. Camp Moore, a preserved Civil War training site with earthworks and a museum, lies just outside town.
