Spring Lake is a small military town in Cumberland County, North Carolina, home to about 11,600 people near Fort Liberty. US Highway 401 runs right through town, connecting to Fayetteville (10 miles south) and Raleigh (60 miles north), while I-95 passes just east for long-distance travelers. Most visitors come from nearby military families or the Triangle area. The restored 1925 Carver School downtown now serves as the community center and cultural hub.
