Spring Hill is a growing Johnson County suburb about 30 miles southwest of Kansas City, positioned along US Highway 169. Most visitors use US 169 from the north via Overland Park, or take county roads like 199th Street from east or west. The city has evolved from a rural community into a popular residential area for Kansas City commuters. Its historic downtown centers around Main Street, where the original 1857 schoolhouse still operates as a museum.
