Spring Bay is a small river town of 520 people along the Illinois River, about 15 miles northeast of Peoria. Take Route 26 north from Peoria for the most direct drive, or connect via I-74 through Morton. The town centers around the Illinois River with boat launches and fishing spots. Spring Bay's manually operated railroad swing bridge is one of the last working swing bridges on the Illinois River.
