Spofford is a tiny Texas community of about 30 people located 120 miles west of San Antonio on US Highway 90. Most visitors pass through on the main route to Del Rio and the Mexican border, while locals use Farm Road 674 to reach scattered ranches in this remote brush country. The old Spofford post office served area wool and mohair ranchers from 1883 to 1955.
