Spencer is Owen County's seat, sitting in the rolling hills between Indianapolis and Bloomington. Take State Road 46 east to Bloomington (20 miles) or west to Nashville, or SR 67 north toward Martinsville and Indianapolis (45 miles). Monroe County Airport is 25 miles southeast. The 1911 Owen County Courthouse with its red brick clock tower dominates the town square.
