Speed is a tiny farming community in north-central Kansas with just six residents, sitting among wheat fields in Phillips County. Reach it via US Highway 36, the main east-west route across northern Kansas, then local county roads. The nearest real town is Phillipsburg, about 15 miles southeast. It's one of Kansas's smallest incorporated places, named after an original homesteader.
