Spaulding is a small farming community of about 880 people located 15 miles southeast of Springfield along the Sangamon River. Take I-55 to Exit 88 or drive Route 29 south from Springfield for the quickest access. The town sits in classic Illinois prairie country with rolling farmland and connects to nearby Riverton and Rochester via county roads. Its 1872 one-room schoolhouse still stands as a piece of local history.
