Sparks is a small city in south-central Georgia with about 2,000 residents, located 30 miles northeast of Valdosta. US Highway 41 runs right through town, connecting it to Tifton and other area communities, while Interstate 75 provides access from Atlanta about three hours north. The city still operates one of Georgia's few remaining manual railroad crossings downtown.
