Southside is a small city in northeast Alabama's foothills, just south of Gadsden along the Coosa River. Interstate 59 provides the main access, connecting to Birmingham and Chattanooga, while US 431 links north to Gadsden and south toward Anniston. The city got its name from sitting on the south side of the Coosa River as it winds through the area.
