Southgate is a Wayne County suburb 15 miles southwest of Detroit, positioned along the I-75 corridor with easy airport access. Telegraph Road and Fort Street provide main north-south routes, while Eureka Road handles east-west traffic. Detroit Metro Airport sits 12 miles northeast. The city features one of Michigan's first enclosed shopping malls, the Southgate Shopping Center from 1958.
