Southaven is a Memphis suburb just across the Tennessee state line in northern Mississippi. Take I-55 south from Memphis (about 20 minutes) or north from Jackson. Highway 51 and Highway 302 provide local connections, while I-269 offers a bypass route around greater Memphis. The city serves as a bedroom community for Memphis workers and a retail hub for northern Mississippi. Despite being incorporated only in 1980, it's already Mississippi's third-largest city.
