South Corning is a small Steuben County community of about 1,100 people in New York's Southern Tier. Take I-86 east or west to reach it, with State Route 414 connecting north to the Finger Lakes. Most visitors use I-86 for regional trips or accessing Corning's glass attractions. The town features the historic Newtown Creek Covered Bridge from 1881, still open to traffic.
