Soso is a small Mississippi community where Highway 15 and Route 588 intersect in Jones County's pine country. Most visitors drive up from the Gulf Coast or down from Meridian via Highway 15, which connects to Interstate 59 through Laurel, about 15 miles north. The town sits in classic Piney Woods terrain with year-round green forests. Soso gets its name from the Choctaw word for "buzzard."
