Sorento is a small farming town in south-central Illinois, about 50 miles northeast of St. Louis. Take I-70 to Exit 36, then Route 127 north for 8 miles. From Springfield, it's a straight 35-mile drive south on Route 127 through corn and soybean country. The town's historic grain elevator towers over the flat prairie, visible for miles and serving as the area's most recognizable landmark.
