Solomon is a small farming town of about 900 people in central Kansas, located 15 miles southeast of Salina on US Highway 40. Most traffic involves daily commutes to Salina or agricultural transport through the surrounding wheat country. The town's restored 1906 Union Pacific depot serves as a landmark from its railroad shipping days.
