Soldier is a tiny farming community of 68 people in northeastern Kansas, about 20 miles north of Topeka via US Highway 75. The town sits at rural crossroads in Jackson County's rolling hills and farmland. Most visitors are either daily commuters or travelers exploring rural Kansas on the main north-south highway. The historic one-room schoolhouse from 1870 still stands as the town's most notable landmark.
