Soldier is a tiny farming town of 133 people in western Iowa's Monona County. Highway 183 runs north-south through town, with access from Highway 30 via County Road L55. The closest interstate is I-680, about 20 miles southeast near Missouri Valley. The town is named after Soldier Creek, where a soldier reportedly died during early settlement.
