The town of 1,330 sits along State Route 585 in Ohio's agricultural heartland, surrounded by crop fields and dairy farms. Wayne County Airport lies just northeast of town for general aviation. Each September, Smithville's annual Harvest Festival draws thousands of visitors with over 300 craft vendors lining the main street.
