Slayden is a small Tennessee community in Dickson County, about 50 miles northwest of Nashville along the Cumberland River. Drivers reach it via State Route 49, which runs from Dickson west toward Dover and the Land Between the Lakes. The town sits in fertile river bottomlands where rolling hills meet the Cumberland's ancient oxbow bend that early farmers found ideal for agriculture.
