Skidmore is a tiny farming town in northwest Missouri, about two hours north of Kansas City via I-35 and US 36. Highway 113 provides the main access from US 136. The town of 189 people gained national attention in 1981 when residents killed local bully Ken Rex McElroy in broad daylight, creating one of Missouri's most notorious unsolved crimes.
