Sisters, a mountain town of 3,000 in central Oregon's high desert, sits 22 miles northwest of Bend via Highway 20. The scenic Highway 242 (McKenzie Pass) connects to Eugene seasonally, while Highway 126 links north to Redmond. At 3,200 feet elevation beneath the Cascade peaks, it's known for its Western-themed downtown and the massive Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show each July, when hundreds of quilts cover building facades.
