Sims is a small Wilson County town of about 500 people in eastern North Carolina's farm country. US Highway 301 runs right through town, connecting north to Rocky Mount and southwest to Wilson, while State Route 58 provides east-west access. The community sits about 15 miles west of Interstate 95 and 20 miles from Rocky Mount Wilson Regional Airport. The town's century-old country store still operates with its original wooden floors and penny candy.
