Simpson is a tiny Louisiana community of about 400 people in Vernon Parish, roughly 45 minutes west of Alexandria via Highway 10. It sits in pine forest country near the Texas border, where locals head to Alexandria or Leesville for major shopping. The real draw here is exceptional bass fishing in nearby lakes and Bayou San Patricio.
