Simonton is a small Fort Bend County town of about 900 people, located 45 miles southwest of Houston via US-59 and FM-1093. The main routes include FM-1093 from Richmond and State Highway 36 running north-south. Most visitors arrive from Houston or Austin, while locals use FM-1093 to reach Katy, Fulshear, and Richmond for work and services. The town sits in historic Brazos River bottomland that once supported major sugar cane plantations.
